About This Event

Hi, I’m Nicola! I’m passionate about helping adults learn to draw and paint what they see. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to rekindle your creative spirit, this course is for you! No experience is necessary—we’ll start with the basics in a warm, supportive environment.

Art Fundamentals is an 8-week beginner-friendly course designed for adults. It’s a chance to nurture your creativity, learn foundational skills, and connect with others who value art and self-expression.

In the first three sessions, we’ll focus on drawing with graphite pencils. You’ll learn how to create balanced compositions and select a landscape scene to develop throughout the course. Each class builds on the previous one, and by the end of this phase, you’ll complete a tonal drawing of your composition, which will serve as a reference for your painting.

The second half of the course is all about acrylic painting! You’ll explore how to mix colors, how to use those colours effectively and how to apply different painting techniques as your chosen composition comes to life on canvas.

By the end of the 8 weeks, you’ll have your own acrylic painting on a stretched canvas, ready to display proudly. Along the way, you’ll gain valuable skills, build confidence, and make connections with other like-minded beings. Plus, as alumni, you’re welcome to join my casual weekly group tutoring sessions to continue your creative journey.

 

About Me

I hold a degree in Visual Arts (specialising in acrylic painting) and have nearly a decade of experience in the education field. I love seeing students master new techniques and find their own creative flow!

 

Dates & Times:

8 Mondays:

- Feb: 17th, 24th

- March: 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st

- April: 7th

Sessions 1-4: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM (2 hours each)

Sessions 5-8: 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM (3 hours each)

 

Price:

$380 per person + booking fee

Includes:

- All art materials (including a stretched canvas)

- 20 hours of personalised tuition in a group setting

 

Cancellation Policy:

- Full refunds (minus booking fee) are available up to 7 days before the course starts.

- After this, tickets can be transferred to another person until the course begins.
