The states we find within our dreams. Those times we stare aimlessly into the night sky or at rolling waves.
When we stand upon hilltops and contemplate the world below. Deep emotions are evoked - the introspective, the ethereal and transcendent. FOREST. paints these feelings and states of mind through the merging of ambient, post-rock and neo-classical styles. Centred around being mindful of the moments that we come across within our days. The Sound Of These Walls soundtracks everyday life. Our days are full of light and beautiful things to notice. From birdcalls, sunrises to the patter of rain and the hum of a fan. Even the textures on our walls deserve recognition. The wider our eyes are open. The deeper we look. The more we will begin to notice. There is a whole world out there. And in here, between four walls.
FOREST. is immensely excited to announce that Nat Bartsch is our support act for the evening.
Nat Bartsch is a double ARIA-nominated pianist and composer based in Melbourne. Her soothing neo-romantic music defies the conventions of genre, moving effortlessly between classical, jazz and children’s genres. Her soothing melodic pieces, including lullabies, are played across the world by people of all ages – literally from the birthing site to the final hours of life. Nat has released eight albums of original music as performer/composer including Forever, and No Time At All and Hope. Her newest album, Hope Renewed is jazz/post-rock reinterpretation of Hope. She has toured domestically and internationally and been commissioned by many leading Australian ensembles. In 2023 she launches her own record label, Amica Records. She has been nominated for both jazz and classical ARIAs, as well as AIR and Music Victoria awards. She has received several awards and prizes including the 2021 Merlyn Myer Commission, and the 2010 Melbourne Prize for Music -Development Award.
Allow an organic palette of guitars, lush piano, soaring violin, an angelic choir and chest pounding drums be your soundtrack for a night.
