WHY

HANDHELD DYNAMOMETRY (HHD) has been established as a reliable and accurate tool for clinicians over many decades and the literature supports the efficacy of HHD in various applications. We have been using HHDs in the clinic for over 7 years and have a range of HHDs in the clinic covering all the price points

·     We will review different types of HHD available, price brackets, value for money and the techniques used.

·      How to integrate the use of HHD into patient care protocols to improve patient experience without taking extra time in an appointment.

·      We will review how the patient experience and satisfaction are significantly enhanced

Many different types of HHD exist at different costs and with different techniques advocated. We aim to shed more light on this issue and provide you with a framework to select appropriate tools, tests and techniques to improve clinical outcomes, and why we feel handheld dynamometers are important for the patient experience and an essential tool in MSK clinical practice.

We shall also explore the use of force platforms in a clinic and how we use the kit by Strength by numbers in clinical practice
