Importance of choosing the perfect event venue

Importance of choosing the perfect event venue

Planning an event involves numerous decisions, from selecting the theme to coordinating logistics. Among these choices, one of the most crucial is the venue. The venue sets the stage for your event and can greatly influence its success. Let’s delve into the importance of choosing the perfect venue and how it impacts various aspects of your event.

Creating the Right Atmosphere

The venue you choose sets the tone and atmosphere for your event. Whether it’s a corporate conference, a wedding, or a birthday party, the ambience plays a vital role in shaping guests’ experiences. A well-chosen venue aligns with the theme and purpose of your event, creating a welcoming and immersive environment that enhances engagement and enjoyment.

Ensuring Adequate Space and Facilities

The size and layout of the venue must accommodate the number of guests and activities planned for the event. Every detail, from seating arrangements to audio-visual setups, contributes to attendees’ overall flow and comfort. A suitable venue offers the necessary facilities and amenities, such as parking, restrooms, and catering services, to ensure a seamless experience for guests.

Enhancing Accessibility and Convenience

Accessibility is key to maximising attendance and ensuring inclusivity. A centrally located venue with easy transportation options makes it convenient for guests to attend, increasing the likelihood of a successful turnout. Moreover, accessibility considerations, such as wheelchair access and accommodations for individuals with disabilities, demonstrate inclusivity and reflect positively on your event.

Reflecting on Your Brand or Theme

The venue serves as a physical representation of your brand or event theme. Its architecture, decor, and surroundings contribute to attendees’ overall aesthetic and messaging. Choosing a venue that aligns with your brand identity or event concept reinforces your message and leaves a lasting impression on guests, fostering a sense of connection and resonance.

Setting the Stage for Memorable Experiences

Great events are about what happens during the proceedings and the lasting memories they create. A unique or iconic venue can elevate the experience, making it more memorable for attendees. Whether it’s a historic landmark, a scenic outdoor location, or a trendy urban space, the venue adds an element of excitement and novelty that enhances the overall event experience.

Facilitating Logistics and Planning

The right venue can streamline event logistics and planning efforts. A professional event space equipped with experienced staff can assist in coordinating various aspects of your event, from setup and technical support to catering and cleanup. This allows you to focus on other important details, knowing that the venue team has everything under control.

Maximising Return on Investment

Choosing the perfect venue is about creating a memorable experience for attendees and maximising the return on investment. A well-suited venue that meets your requirements and enhances the event experience can contribute to its success and yield greater returns, whether in brand exposure, networking opportunities, or attendee satisfaction.

Why choose Perth for your next event?

Australia undoubtedly boasts some awesome cities. From an event planner’s perspective, Perth hits the mark because it has all the necessary components to host a world-class event.

To begin with, in Western Australia, the weather is wonderful, and Long, bright days are a characteristic of the area. Perth offers many outdoor venues to enable you to hold your event outside.

Why choose Perth for your next event

Best travel links are also available from the city. To better assist regional air travel in the surrounding areas, Perth Airport has recently undergone a $1 billion refurbishment programme, with an additional $80 million spent. For this reason, both Australians and visitors from other countries can easily travel to Perth.

When you reach Perth, you can accommodate guests with a wide selection of stores, eateries, and lodging options. More than 16,000 hotel rooms are available to host your guests, with 59% being more upscale.

And best of all, Perth has some of Australia’s most distinctive and eccentric suburbs. Numerous venues in every city area may help you create a memorable event and establish the mood (we’ll talk more about those neighbourhoods in a moment).

Where you can find the best venues in Perth

Regarding atmospheric venues for festivals, concerts, banquets, meetings, parties, and all in between, event planners in Perth are spoiled for choice. The unique neighbourhoods that make up the city account for a significant portion of that ambience.

We’ll briefly guide you through some of the most well-liked parts of Perth and what makes them unique to help you focus on the most excellent section of the city to begin your event search.

1. East Perth

The most diverse neighbourhood in the city is most likely East Perth. East Perth, which spans from Riverbank to Claisebrook Cove and is centred on Queens Gardens and Wellington Square, is home to a plethora of dining establishments, performance venues, and expansive waterfront views.

Where you can find the best venues in Perth

Connectivity is one of the best things about renting a space in East Perth. It’s the perfect position for guests arriving from around the city or further afield, with easy access to transportation links throughout Perth and Perth Airport.

2. West Perth

With its distinct personality, West Perth is an ideal location for hosting an event that allows attendees to experience the local way of life.

Many of West Perth’s event spaces are integrated into busy residential neighbourhoods, and the area is entirely of green streets surrounded by heritage brick houses.

3. Claisebrook

Claisebrook Cove gets its name from the stream that flows into it, and this suburb is surrounded by beautiful greenery. It boasts some of Perth’s most distinctive buildings and various breathtaking outdoor attractions.

It’s basically a serene haven smack dab in the centre of one of Australia’s most vibrant cities. Still, Claisebrook has its own unique Royal Street with its array of stores, eateries, and rental places that are a tad livelier.

4. Fremantle

Fremantle is officially a suburb of Perth. However, the most beautiful beaches in the area may be found there, ranging from Bathers Beach and South Beach across the harbour to Leighton Beach and Port Beach in North Fremantle.

Fremantle is accessible from all throughout the city thanks to transportation connections to Perth’s central business district. But the atmosphere is very different. In Fremantle, everything moves a little more slowly, and you can show off some of Australia’s most breathtaking seaside settings and oceanfront views to your guests.

5. Riverbank

Perth’s Riverbank neighbourhood offers views of the crooked Swan River. Riverbank blends residential neighbourhoods, historic structures, and hip riverfront venues.

If you’re looking for a slightly more sedate location to show your guests some of Perth’s most breathtaking vistas, Riverbank is the ideal choice for your event.

6. Northbridge

Perth’s cultural heart lies in Northbridge. Northbridge, located north of the CBD and sandwiched between East and West Perth, is home to several hip places and distinctive art galleries. It has a beautiful, contemporary vibe, which is why the Fringe World Festival, an international phenomenon, is held there. William Street is its primary artery, and public transportation easily connects it to all of Perth’s other neighbourhoods.

7. CBD

The vibrant downtown region of Perth, known as the Commercial Business District (CBD), is an excellent venue for event hosting.

Perth CBD is a peculiar mix of slick, contemporary skyscrapers and brick heritage buildings anchored by its verdant St Georges Terrace. CBD has the city’s largest concentration of event spaces and great transportation links due to its central Perth location. That is why it is perfect if accessibility is something you have on your wish list.

The best venues to hire in Perth

As we’ve mentioned, Perth is full of fantastic event venues. We want to share 15 of our favourites if you need assistance sorting through the available options.

We adore these venues because they are unique and accessible, accommodate different event sizes, and offer all the amenities you need to make your next Perth event unforgettable.

1. The Blue Room Theatre

Perth’s cultural hub, the Blue Room, is home to independent theatre in Western Australia and offers a variety of recently refurbished locations. This heritage-like theatre in Northbridge is perfect for rehearsals and workshops.

The Blue Room Theatre Perth

With some of Perth’s most affordable venue rentals, the Blue Room is ideal for many events, including book launches, charity events, rehearsals, workshops, play readings, and small conference venues.

The Blue Room Theatre at the Perth Cultural Centre, which consists of two distinctive spaces within a heritage-listed structure, also provides members looking for reasonably priced local event venues for distinctive fundraisers with discounted prices.

2. Moore & Moore

Moore & Moore is a charming warehouse located in a rustic area of Fremantle. This is one of Fremantle’s most gorgeous boutique venues because it has a more classical European rustic feel than the current urban-industrial ambience many converted warehouse spaces aim for.

The courtyard lit by candles, the creeping foliage, and the exposed red brick beneath peeling paint all contribute to the old beauty. With a dedicated breakfast meeting room, gallery space, and an on-site cafe that can accommodate all dietary needs, the facility can accommodate super-creators wishing to throw events of all shapes and sizes, whether daytime or evening.

3. ARARA

ARARA is a distinctive event venue with South American inspiration, housed in a stunning, renovated factory in the centre of Perth’s CBD. The two-story bar in the heart of the city offers a variety of event facilities for rent, including bars, lounges, a rooftop patio, gardens, and the South American restaurant Tupí.

These rooms can accommodate anything from workshops to weddings with up to 250 people. One of the reasons ARARA is one of our favourite places in Perth is its unique atmosphere and distinctive decor, making it ideal for live-streaming thrilling virtual or hybrid events for even larger audiences.

4. Somerville Auditorium

One of Perth’s most gorgeous locations is the Somerville Auditorium, set amid the well-kept University of Western Australia gardens. It’s like a private forest getaway located near Crawley, south of the CBD.

Rarely used as a private party or corporate function location for up to 200 guests, the 10-by-20-meter clear-roof marquee is most popular with the wedding crowd and is only accessible between late April and early October.

Your guests will be enthralled with the dramatic private forest ambience created by the cathedral-like Norfolk pine trees that totally envelop the excellent site.

5. Henry Summer

Henry Summer is one of our favourite choices for big gatherings, partly because it’s an urban sanctuary in Northbridge that is always sunny.

Situated in an area where summer is perpetual, Henry Summer is a vast wine and cocktail garden that blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces. The room features covered and open areas for small-scale private events or seminars, and it is covered with beautiful flora growing on the floor, walls, and ceiling.

However, this adaptable area can host grand events for up to 1,000 guests. One of Perth’s most well-liked party spots, Henry Summer, is run by Clint Nolan and his Lavish Habits crew and features the same exceptional standards of style, originality, and “cool” that we’ve come to expect.

6. Tiny’s Bar

The hilarious thing about Tiny’s Bar in Perth CBD is that it isn’t tiny. Yet a quick search for “small event venues near me” in Perth will likely bring it up.

A vast indoor and outdoor courtyard space, restaurant, bar, and liquor emporium are all accessible from Tiny’s entry at the base of Perth’s QV1 skyscraper. Behind the bar, there is an innovative selection of non-alcoholic options.

There is an opportunity to hire the entire venue for up to 220 people or six different function spaces accommodating 35 to 100 guests each. With their ability to accommodate any wild concept you have for your event, Tiny’s is undoubtedly not your typical location.

7. Wolf Lane

One of the city’s most beloved establishments, Wolf Lane, is tucked away down a narrow and behind a regular door in Perth’s CBD.

With its vintage, mismatched furniture, crammed picture frames, and shaky wooden tables, this incredibly eccentric cocktail bar has an undeniable vibe. However, this venue’s jaw-dropping murals inspired by fairytales are what make it stand out. They add a magical touch and provide endless photo opportunities for Instagram.

Wolf Lane is ideal for more personal, small-scale gatherings. Its two significant rooms can each accommodate groups of 40 to 90 individuals.

8. Perth City Farm

Perth City Farm is an unforeseen ethical urban farm and nursery in East Perth, nestled next to the railway lines at Claisebrook Station.

Various unique venue locations are available for hire within this unusual volunteer-run community, including a large ancient barn that leads into a courtyard furnished with oil barrel tables and seating made from milk crates.

Another reason we adore this location- in addition to its flair- is its flexibility. The rustic venue can accommodate 200 to 400 guests and has been used for art shows, pop-up marketplaces, exhibitions, and launch parties. The only limit is the imagination of the creative event planner.

9. Freo.Social

One of the hippest hangouts in Fremantle is now this former industrial area. Freo.Social is broken up into five distinct venue spaces, ranging from a 60-person microbrew shed to a significant performance hall that can accommodate 400 people standing or 250 people seated as a theatre.

The 1895 structure has been tastefully renovated to serve as a first-rate location for weddings and business gatherings. With 56 separate taps dispersed throughout the space, there is no beer shortage at this location, which also features a permanent food truck for reasonably priced meals.

10. The Nostalgia Box

Are you looking to let your inner child loose in the inner city? The Nostalgia Box is the place to reserve your next event.

Our list includes this unique West Perth location because of its unusual location. Because, as we all know, nostalgia is a strong emotion, sometimes you have to think outside the box to have an influence. Unique and laid-back, it’s an excellent venue for various occasions, and corporate gatherings are its main draw.

Plan your next networking or fundraising event with The Nostalgia Box, which has Australia’s first video game console museum and an interactive gaming area as the special something you’ve been looking for.

11. The Aviary Perth

The Aviary, a lavish facility with various event spaces, is conveniently located on William Street. However, its most outstanding feature is the breathtaking rooftop bar. This is the most extensive outdoor bar in the city, holding up to 300 people, and it offers a stunning perspective of the Perth skyline to make any cocktail party unforgettable.

The Aviary offers a variety of smaller facilities for hire in addition to its rooftop bar. One of the highlights is the Hidden Garden, a verdant green area hidden away on the rooftop that provides a unique backdrop for intimate get-togethers. The Aviary is also notable on our list due to its accessibility. The Perth Underground station is only a few doors away.

12. Moana Hall

Moana Hall is a classy, Great Gatsby-esque venue in the city’s heart. Situated in the centre of the CBD at the end of Hay Street Mall, It is a stunning heritage-listed tower that dates back to 1908. In 2019, the hall’s cafe, bar, and event space were expanded and modernised while preserving its vintage charm.

Massive arched windows, antique hardwood floors, and black-and-white decor contribute to the sophisticated atmosphere. The balcony overlooking Perth CBD completes an evening inspired by The Great Gatsby. This venue makes our list because it’s ideal for a larger cocktail party or formal affair.

13. La Cholita

La Cholita, a Northbridge-based venue, is the ideal choice if you want to liven up your next Perth gathering. La Cholita is a Mexican location with immersive décor that will immediately infuse your event with taste and ambience. La Cholita is perfect for small gatherings unlike several other rental locations featured. With a maximum capacity of 160 people, this location is ideal for birthday celebrations, informal dinners, private parties, and everything. The best part is that venue rental includes half the unique Mexican catering and an extended tequila selection that will dominate your beverage options.

14. Little Creatures

Little Creatures is one of Perth’s best event venues and one of Western Australia’s most innovative breweries. Located in Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, Little Creatures offers a variety of settings, such as The Great Hall, The Mezz, and The Back Deck. All of these vibrant locations are ideal for medium-sized and smaller parties. However, the brewery also has a 940-capacity “Big Shed” that you may rent to organise a more significant event.

Little Creatures also owns a nearby harborside property that provides an elegant setting with expansive ocean views perfect for weddings and corporate parties if you want something more private. You may choose from various brewery experiences to add to Little Creatures, which is one of the reasons we adore them. This incorporates a small amount of entertainment that many of your guests find entirely novel.

15. Old Courthouse Fremantle

One of Fremantle’s most recognisable historical structures, the Old Courthouse, was constructed in 1899 and is currently one of the most remarkable event spaces available for rental in the Perth region. After an enormous renovation project, the venue offers three fantastic event spaces: The Civil Court, Pavillion, and Garden.

Larger outdoor parties work best in the expansive Garden, while the Pavillion provides a distinctive hybrid area. The Civil Court is a beautifully designed lounge suitable for smaller gatherings. Along with being a well-liked location for weddings in Perth, this venue frequently holds concerts, burlesque acts, and comedic events. You will benefit from a stunning position on the seashore (just up from Stirling Gardens) regardless of your selected event room.
